2007/12/12道藩英語讀書會19:00~21:00

人數:15 members and 7 guests
口號:Have a Quality meeting every time.

雖然說此讀書會與北市圖合辦，但其實全部是由「中華顧問英語國際演講會」所主導。是個很有組織的團體，每次的聚會都事先安排要進行的事情與負責的人員，其成員還有分階級，以演講次數或其他的發表來計算，最高階為DTM。如果想練習英語，其實這是個非常好的機會。除了有計時人員外，還有個有趣的Ah Counter，中文稱「計『阿』員」，計算上台發表時說到ah這個字的次數，次數最多者要罰錢。其它session還包括說笑話、table topics session（由主持人發問，指定人回答問題，每個人1~2分鐘）。每次還安排2個人報告自選主題，也都有計時。

最後有個evaluation，計時者、計「阿」員要向大家報告每個人session或人所花的時間，以及每個人說「阿」的次數（主要針對上台報告者），evaluators會針對報告人的缺點加以說明，general evaluation總結該次活動的優缺點，還會提到所觀察到的發音、用法等英語使用情況。每次會選出best prepared speech speaker, best table topic speaker, and best individual evaluator.

聽成員說，這個讀書會已經成立很久，20、30年以上差不多有了，toastmaster每年還會舉辦比賽，說笑話、演講之類的，總之，這個讀書會對口說會很有幫助。

後記：
今天收到一封信，原來是昨天meeting的紀錄，真的是相當有組織的一個團體，厲害!  附上信的內容如下：

Dear members and most welcomed guests:
Thanks for joining CECI meeting last night!
We really had a great time, especially with YOU!
We had 15 members and 7 guests.
According to Howard, it was a Quality and Quantity meeting. :)

Raymond Yu was our Toastmaster of the evening.
Though we had several technical problems, he remained calm and switched the program immediately. Thank you, Raymond!

Our joke session master was Cindy Hsu.
She is a really active member and always wants to learn more.
She brought up some jokes, invited members and guests to share their interesting jokes or stories. Cindy successfully broke the ice in the meeting. We had so many laughters.Thank you!

In the prepared speech session, we had two enthusiasm members sharing their own story and experience on "constipation" and "How to choose Mutual Fund".
Congratulations to Grace. She won the best speaker last night!
Please share us your speech on the club website.
I personally like ChunChi's speech. I would like to know more about the mutual fund.
Maybe Chunchi could tell us more about it in her next speech.  :)

In table topic session, Dr. Chao Huang did a wonderful job. He prepared lots of interesting questions for us, and also had  a small gift for the guest! Congratulations to Kate Chen. Hope you can have a relaxing trip to Tahiti in the near future.

In evaluation session, both Y.C Lin and Y.S Liao gave useful suggestions. Y.S also won the best evaluator!

Since we're going to hold a variety session at Div. C Xmas party on 12/22,
we had a briefly rehearsal.
Our new member, Phoebe, was the Host, and she really did a great job.
Rule explaining was clear and everybody enjoyed it a lot.
